15 Days, students will be able to interpret, evaluate and use primary source materials.
20 Days, students will be able to analyze a document based question to determine what prior historical knowledge they will need to answer the question.
25 Days, students will be able to develop an excellent thesis statement
35 Days, students will be able to take Cornell-style notes on these documents
40 Days, students will be able to outline and plan a five-paragraph essay.
45 Days, students will be able to write an introductory paragraph for their essay that engages the reader and clearly states the thesis.
50 Days, students will be able to code their Cornell-style notes for main ideas and details.
55 Days, Students will be able to write support paragraphs that use primary sources for main ideas.
60 Days, students will be able to use details for and explanations of their main ideas in their support paragraphs.
65 Days, students will be able to use transitional words and phrases to link their paragraphs logically.
70 Days, students will be able to write a strong conclusion for their essay.
75 Days, students will be able to proof read their work and the work of their student colleagues.
80 Days, students will be able to use their own and their partner’s suggestions to create a finished draft of their essay.
90 Days, students will be able to use their Cornell notes to study for an exam.
140 Days, students will be able to plan and manage their academic time to accomplish long-term projects.
150 Days, students will be able to do all of the above with greater skill and efficiency
