Students in the course will produce a portfolio that will give evidence that students have achieved the course objectives. The portfolio components will include:
• Class work – Students will have in class work assigned each day. Completion of that work will be worth 2 points.
• Essays – Students will have to write one (1) five-paragraph essay Fall semester and Three (3) five-paragraph essays Spring semester. These essays will be based on the five-paragraph essay model. Each of these essays will be worth 50 points.
• Mid Term Exam – Students will take a Mid-term where they finish the final draft of their essay on the Han and Roman Empires. The Midterm will be worth 50 points.
• Final Exam – Students will take a Final. The final will be a timed essay. The Final is worth 100 points
Grading: Grades will be based on a percentage of points earned.
93-100% = A 88-89% = B+ 78-79% = C+ 68-69% = D+ <55% = F 90-92% = A- 83-87% = B 73-77% = C 63-67% = D 80-82% = B- 70-72% = C- 55-62% = D-
